16 Dec The Forum recognised as one of USAID partners standing for human rights
On 10 December 2024 which is the Human Rights Day, the USAID’s Industry Liaison team, spotlighted the essential work of organisations advocating for human rights globally. The Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum was flagged as one of the six key partners that were celebrated by the USAID:
Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights (Iraq and Syria): Aids survivors of human rights violations and promotes democratic values through clinics and mobile teams, helping over 100,000 people since 2005.
Kulima (Mozambique): Focuses on gender equity, youth employment, and marginalized groups’ rights, raising awareness through the DIREITOS program.
Public Aid Organization (PAO) (Iraq): Works towards a developed civil society, addressing gender-based violence and educational access in Iraq.
Rosana Empowerment Foundation (Nigeria): Advocates for gender equality and access to education and healthcare, impacting 7,000 communities.
Volta Resilient Foundation (Ghana): Tackles child trafficking and abuse, providing education and rehabilitation for survivors through community-led initiatives.
Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum: A coalition of 21 NGOs focused on protecting human rights amidst political challenges, offering support to victims of organized violence and Torture.
